

He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Union Baptist Church. Gregory was active in the children’s choir, youth choir and youth usher board. His primary education and religious instruction was under the guidance of the Zion Lutheran Church and School, the same school his father attended, and he was confirmed in the eighth grade. While attending Zion, Greg played football, basketball and also served as the youth group president for a season. He loved football! Gregory participated on the South Side High School team until his heath began to fail but he always loved the NFL.
Gregory maintained academic excellence from an early age graduating from Zion Lutheran School, South Side High School and Ivy Tech Community College obtaining an Associate of Science in Business degree.
He was employed with Anthony Wayne Services (AWS) until he could no longer safely work in the facility. Turnstone Center for Children & Adults with Disabilities provided an outlet for Gregory in their Adult Day Program and he continued in his love of sports by joining the Bocce team where he excelled in tournaments winning several awards across the Midwest.
Greg was a faithful member of the Union Baptist Church for 26 years until he joined his mom at the Good Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Dan Garrette Sr. and Willie Martin. In addition to his parents, Gregory is survived by his brother, Brandon D. Martin, nieces, Opal Madison Marie and Vivica Renee, grandparents, Mary E. Garrette and Nancy (Ebbie) Clark, aunts Danella Hicks, Evelyn Garrett and Radafay Martin, uncles Dan (Taneya) Garrett Jr., Michael Garrett and Dana (Emily) Martin, many great-aunts and uncles along with a host of other relatives and friends.
We all love you Gregory, but GOD loves you most!
