Hazel "Dianne" Honkala

Hazel "Dianne" Honkala, 85, of Danville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Sage Bluff Health and Rehab Center. Hazel was born July 25, 1939 in Jonesboro, Union County Illinois, to the late William and Hazel (Dailey) Tinsley. Hazel worked at General Electric for over 20 years and later at Rantoul Products. Hazel loved her family and she loved going on vacation trips, especially the one where her daughter took her First Class to Europe. She loved her shopping trips with her niece, Donna Mae. Surviving family include her son, Kyle (Crystal) Honkala of Petersburg, Illinois; daughters, Yvonne (Dan) Buckley of Fort Wayne and Thelithia (Paul) McCarty of Springhill, Florida; sister, Linda Tinsley of, Anna, Illinois; brother, Farrell Tinsley of Champaign, Illinois; grandchildren, Justin, Megan, Katis, Zack, Brandon, Morgan, Ryan, Madison, Kaylie, Kelsey, Kolton, Seth, Steffen, Nathan, Tyler, and Kaysey Mae; and great grandchildren Aly, Hannah, Lilly, JJ, Mia, Lucca, Noah, and Mason. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ann Adams, Merida Kay Tinsley, and Brenda Tinsley; and brothers, Ronnie, Harold, Loil "Red", Herschel, Robert "Lee", Harry, Franklin "June", and Redis. A funeral service will be 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
