Helen M. Henderson, 96, of Leo died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at The Cedars. She was born December 22, 1920 in Wayne, NE to Edley M. and Bessie (Waltmire) Coon. A former beautician, she also worked at Crossroads Florist. She retired in 1980 as secretary at Brookside Church after 15 years of service. After retirement she volunteered at the Dove’s Nest and The Cedars. She was a member of Grabill Missionary Church.
Survivors include children Gary R. (Carol) Henderson of Fort Wayne, Janis L. (John) Geiger of Columbia City, Robert L. (Cheryl) Henderson of Charlotte, NC, James H. (Dianna) Henderson and Lori A. Henderson, both of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Edley M. (Jean) Coon, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy M., a sister, Betty L. Cook, and a great-grandson, Elliot Josiah Henderson.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Grabill Missionary Church, 13627 State Street, Grabill, with visitation one hour prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Grabill Missionary Church.
