

Howard Francis Olry, 94, of Fort Wayne was born on June 14, 1927 and died Jan. 27, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Corporal in the United States Air Force, a member of the American Legion, and a choir member at St. John's Catholic Church. He retired from Zollner Pistons in 1992 after 40 years; then worked delivering cars, his part-time dream job. Hobbies Howard enjoyed over the years were bowling, traveling, fishing, cards and car shopping, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Dorothy Olry; brother Vincent; son, Robert (Joy) Olry; daughters, Nancy (Robert) Loftus, Diane (Bobby) Kratzert, Cheryl (Kenneth) Gephart; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Howard is survived by his stepsons Jim (Judy) Degitz, Dan (Kathy) Degitz, Steven (Jan) Degitz, Phil (Holly) Degitz; son-in-law Steve Hyndman; stepdaughter, Linda (Harold) Ware; brother-in-law David; sisters-in-law, Ruth, Judy, Nila; 18 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Howard was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nila Olry, loving mother of his children; parents Leo Bernard and Marie Olry; siblings, Mary, Marjorie, Alvah Sr., Dorothy, Joseph, Therese, Pearl, Bernadette, Joan; stepdaughter Kathleen Hyndman; brother-in-laws, Robert, Donald, Kenneth; sister-in-law Maxine and step-grandson Bradley Ware.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, with a Rosary at 7:30 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne.
