Hubert Laile Shelton, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021. He was born June 2, 1941 in Greeneville, Tennessee, son of the late Wiley Hovel and Essie (Cutshall) Shelton. Laile was a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan College and was a U. S. Army Veteran. He retired from Dana Corporation after 33 1/2 years and was the owner and operator of P & L Construction. He also had substitute taught at Eastbrook Community Schools. Surviving are his children, Cindy (Richie) Gilbert, Brian Shelton, Annette Shelton, John Shelton, and Janel (Raymond) Kabasa; grandchildren, Kayla Gilbert, Stevie Gilbert, Michael (Nickie) Stinson, Jessica Stinson, Johnna Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Christopher (Lynett) Bakehorn, and Madeline Bakehorn; great grandchildren, Addison Gilbert, Mason Gilbert, Caleb Cline, Kali Stinson, Logan Stinson, Kennedy Stinson, Sophia Bakehorn, and Huey Bakehorn; brothers, Wiley Jerry (Marilyn) Shelton, Dewey Walter (Judy) Shelton, and Leon Wayne Shelton; and sister, Elizabeth Gail (Jerry) Magby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Herman Kenneth Shelton, Gladson Earl "Gus" Shelton, and Infant Howard Ralph Shelton. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with a masonic service at 12 PM. Burial will be at Prairie Grove Cemetery, with military honors.
