Jack Devon Steckly, 86, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was called to his Heavenly home on Jul 7, 2023. Jack was born on February 26, 1937 to Arnold and Georgia (Archer) Steckly in Elkhart, Indiana. He graduated from Jimtown High School. Most of Jack’s service in the Navy was as a radioman on the U.S.S. Wisconsin. Jack was a precision machinist for Speedgrip Chuck, Elkhart, and Zimmer, Inc., Warsaw, Indiana. Upon retirement Jack had a wood shop where he made beautiful items for his family, friends and church. Jack’s first wife, Sue Coleman Steckly, died in 1978. Their children, Anthony (Susan) Steckly and Sabrina Weltz survive in addition to two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In 1983 he married Judith Northrup Drohan Steckly who with his step-son, James (Sue) Drohan and two grandchildren and a brother, John (Sue) Steckly, Elkhart, survive. Preceding him in death were his parents, Arnold Steckly and Georgia Steckly Holdren; his step-father, Jack Holdren; and four brothers, Arnold Steckly, Robert Steckly, Ronald Holdren, and Roger Holdren. He was a member of Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren. A Celebration of Jack's life will be at the church at 6404 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46807 on July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visiting with the family starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial of ashes will be in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier, Ohio at a later date.
