James Jay McMahon, 62, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at St. Joe Hospital. Born July 22, 1958 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late James McMahon and Beverly Tindall. A graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, he was a wire drawer with Fort Wayne Metals for over 10 years and was previously employed with Fort Wayne Foundry, Columbia City Division, for over 20 years. A car enthusiast, he enjoyed restoring and working on old cars and was especially fond of his red '66 Charger. A dedicated family man, he was kind, a good friend to others, and hardworking. He was the ultimate handyman and could build or fix anything around the house to include his garage, shed, and deck. Surviving are his loving wife of 17 years, Ignacia “Jenny” (Escolastico) McMahon of Fort Wayne; daughters, Sharon Mellott of Villa Hills, KY, Samantha McMahon of FL, and Sabrina McMahon of Fort Wayne; sons, James McMahon of Villa Hills, KY, and Jacob McMahon of FL; eight grandchildren; and brothers, Karl and Bob McMahon, both of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Minnick; and sisters, Jane Minnick and Karen McMahon. Funeral Service is 4:00 pm on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Advantage Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Father Polycarp Fernando officiating.
