James C. Rutherford

James "Jim" Charles Rutherford passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 at Kingston Care Center of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on May 29,1939 in Tolono, Illinois to Marion Francis Rutherford and Linda May Rutherford. Jim proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963 and was an electronics school instructor at Fort Bliss, Texas. He later attended University of Illinois and worked as an electrical engineer at the Consolidated Science Lab and Magnavox in Urbana-Champaign area of Illinois before joining Magnavox in Fort Wayne. Jim was a highly creative electronics engineer and accomplished inventor with over a dozen patents. He was greatly respected and well liked by all who knew him. Jim is survived by his sister, Sue Bellamy of Bonita Springs, Florida; sister-in-law, Trudy Rutherford, and ten nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Arlene Ciliberto; and brother, Glenn Rutherford.
