JAMES R. TIPTON, 73, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born Nov. 19, 1935, in Maryville, Tenn., he was a son of the late Roy V. Tipton and Jennie (Kellor) Taylor. He graduated from Central High School and IPFW and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was owner and a counselor of Addictive Behaviors Counseling Center for 16 years. Surviving are his son, James Tipton of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Laquita and Chelena Tipton; and two sisters, Jennie L. (Ron) McCarty of Garrett and Judy A. (Jim) McCune of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Tipton. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6600 Covington Road, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Preferred memorials to S.P.C.A.
