James T. "Jim" Uecker, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Lutheran Life Villages. Jim was born August 1, 1935 in Fort Wayne, son of the late August J. and Teresa M. (Roberts) Uecker. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and worked in the Tool & Die Industry, helping to manufacture special machines and retired from Global Tool & Die. Jim was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Surviving him are his wife, Virginia A. Uecker of Fort Wayne; children, Kathleen M. (Mark) Jones of New Haven, Rebecca A. (Joseph) Kleber of Fort Wayne, Karen S. (Mark) Carteaux of Bellbrook, OH, and John D. (Kimberlee) Uecker of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and sisters, Rita Gloer, Teresa Lucas, Barbara LaCombe, Cecilia Uecker, and Clare Powell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis Uecker and Donald Uecker; and sisters, Mary Dague, Rose Marie Uecker, and Dolores Schuhler. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 12:00 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation starting at 10:30 AM. State and County gathering limits will be enforced during the visitation time, as well as the wearing of masks. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery. Memorial gifts to honor Jim's memory may be given to St. Therese Catholic Church or the Franciscan Center.
