Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of James A. and Eileen (Hennen) Vaughn.
James graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1972. He worked for Harvester and then Hagerman
Construction which he retired from. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Arcola and a
member of the NRA. He loved the outdoors, especially the mountains and being out west. He enjoyed
hunting, reading historical books, doing sudoku puzzles, watching IU basketball, and fishing. He loved his
family beyond words and was most proud of children and grandchildren.
James is survived by his sons, James A. (Angie) Vaughn and Kaleb Vaughn; daughter, Hope (Daniel)
Covey; sister, Sandra (Jeff) Vaughn; brothers, Robert Vaughn, Steve Vaughn, and Greg (Laura) Vaughn;
and grandchildren, Rebecca Vaughn, Morgen Vaughn, Travis Vaughn, Katelynn Covey, Logan Covey, and
Mason Covey. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, James A. and Eileen Vaughn.
A service will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 11 AM with calling two hours prior at St. Patrick’s
