James Joseph Wilson, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born October 20, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Dr. Charles Augustine and Ann Marie Wilson whom survives.
After graduating from Bishop Luers High School and Indiana University, he then went on to Law school.
Jimmy Wilson lived his life on his own terms. He was a promising, young, extraordinary student, athlete who, despite suffering life altering injuries necessitating months of rehab, was able to overcome them to not only finish college, but continue and graduate from law school at Touro College of Law in New York.
He worked to train and implement Logistics and Transportation laws to enable a safer working environment for drivers and stringent guidelines for the employers. He was a pioneer in the digitization and retention of documents.
Most recently Jim focused his considerable efforts and intellect toward the care and assistance of his parents.
Jimmy was loved by all of his nieces and nephews, with whom he spent much time. He was a favorite uncle, deservedly so. He earned that title from showing all of them unconditional love and support.
“Big Jim” was always ready, willing and able to help out a friend or neighbor. He may have seemed brash on the exterior, but his heart was big and open. The family neighbors, as well as their children, came to love and trust Jim, stating he made the neighborhood friendly. To have met and had the privilege of knowing Jim, all grew to love him as a big, burly man with an even bigger heart.
He will be sorely missed
He is survived by his mother, Ann Marie Wilson; brother, Charles (Mary) Wilson; sisters Bernadette Wilson and Anne Marie Wilson; brothers Michael (Banu) Wilson and Timothy Wilson; and his beloved nieces and nephews.
