Janet Marie Heare

Janet Marie Heare, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was called home by the Lord on September 20, 2024. She was born to Willis and Martelle Prine. Janet graduated from Central High School where she participated in Speech Club and also played the Hawaiian guitar in band and was a twirler. Janet and her husband, Bob, spent 34 happy years together and enjoyed many social activities with friends.They liked to travel and explore our beautiful country. Janet never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends wherever she went. She was also an active participant in her King’s Daughters philanthropic group and Claudia Circle at Salem UCC. Janet enjoyed golf, playing bridge with her friends and entertaining. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s numerous activities. Janet is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Pamela (Rick) Dodane and Lori (Sun) Park; bonus children, Gerry (Lisa) Heare, Susan Heare and Lori (Andy) Brooks; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Philip Bollier; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dwain Sylvester; daughter, Stephanie Bollier; sisters, Marcine Robertson, LouEda Surfus and Carol Watson; and brother, Richard Prine. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Contributions in Janet's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
