Growing up, she attended Lyons Township High School in La Grange Park, Illinois, and would later earn an Associate’s Degree at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In college, she was a part of a competitive synchronized swimming team.
Jan had such a colorful personality and leaves behind many treasured memories with her family and friends. She was a huge animal lover. In her free time, she also enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. Beyond all else though, she cherished every moment she spent with her family. Whether it was going on family trips, visiting the zoo, or just gathering at home and sharing many moments of laughter. She was a proud grandmother, and her love will always be held dearly in the hearts of her family.
Jan is survived by her children, Sally (Bill) Nix, Jennifer (Phil) Huizing; grandchildren, Kate Mesaros, Erin Martin, Cory Fagg, Cayla Fagg, Ryan Huizing; great-grandchildren, Vera Mesaros, Hank Mesaros; siblings, Joyce Tigar; son-in-law, Daryl Fagg; and her beloved cat, Rosie. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Fagg; parents, Russell and Anne Waterman; and granddaughter, Hayley Huizing.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Parkview Hospice, Heartland Hospice, Paragon Health Care, as well as Aging and In-Home Services for all their heartfelt care and support.
