Janice "Jan" (Dedman) Boissenet

Jan was a graduate of South Side High School then went on to stay at home and raise her 3 sons on Indiana Avenue. Jan brought much love and joy to all of her friends in her days of tennis and cross country skiing. In 1989 she moved to Lake James where she started Bayview Reality. She owned Bayview Reality for 12 years before retiring. While living at Lake James, Jan met her husband, Jim and they married in October, 1994. Jan loved relaxing in the sun, whether it be on a beach or poolside, with a good book and cold drink in hand. She enjoyed boating and having fun on the lake with family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Boissenet loved traveling to the Gulf Coast and Caribbean, where they vacationed often and created many wonderful memories. She was an avid animal lover. Jan and Jim loved their 3 pugs “the other kids,” Cruiser, Bogie, and Ally dearly. Jan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing board games, watching football and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Chris DeLong, Kurt (Kim) DeLong, Tim (Mindy) DeLong; step-daughters, Courtney (Mike) Walker, Brook (Tami) Boissenet; grandchildren, Taylor, Kara, Kameron, Alec, Finn and Elowen; sister, Julie Anne(Franco) Albanesi of Dallas, TX; nephews Todd (Julia) Albanesi, Donovan Albanesi; She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Shane Albanesi.

A celebration of Jan’s life will be held on October 7, 2018 with visitation from 2pm to 4pm and a memorial service following at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Directly after the service there will be a gathering at the Southwest Conservation Club, 5703 Bluffton Road, 46809. The family would like to give special thanks to Jan’s friends, Sandi and Denny Malott and hospice for giving such loving care in her times of need.
