

Jean Elizabeth Snyder Mazakis passed away Feb 2, 2021 in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was born on May 2, 1947 to Clarence and Dorothy Snyder. Jeanie graduated from Central High School in South Bend, Ind. in 1965, where she competed in swimming and was part of the Glee Club. She attended Bethany Fellowship in Minneapolis, Minn., where she sang many solos and was part of a woman’s trio that sang on campus and in churches. She had a beautiful soprano singing voice and sang many solos in churches she attended or churches where her husband preached across the United States. She lived in Fort Wayne, Ind. for 30 years, where she faithfully attended many of her children’s baseball and softball games at Wallen Park, and Northrop High School football games and band competitions. She attended Shoaff Park Baptist Church and Pine Hills EMC, where she was part of the choir and the bell choir. She knew no strangers, only friends. She was loved by everyone who met her, was accepting of everyone with open arms, and had the sweetest heart. She was married to Richard Winston Mazakis for 50 years. He preceded her in death in Oct. 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by family who loved her dearly, including her four children: Ric (Jane) Mazakis, Rob (Yody) Mazakis, Angie Mazakis, and Liz Mazakis, two sisters: Mary Margaret (Ron) Moore and Sue Ann (David) Smith, nephews David Moore and Cameron Smith, and niece Julie Smith.
