Jeffery Lee Hempton, 66, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on July 6, 1959, in Flint, MI, and moved to Fort Wayne in 1977 where he studied EET at Purdue University.
He began his career in manufacturing engineering in 1980, continuing in that career path until his retirement in 2024, and started Hempton Roast Coffee in 2017. A member of Harvest Fellowship church, Jeff trusted in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and loved adventurous activities like hunting, hiking, and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susie; oldest son Shane (Janet) Carrier; sons Kaidon (Lena) Hempton, Kolton (Emily) Hempton, and their godmother Mary Bastress; sisters Nan Hamilla, Pam (Wayne) Tingley; and 7 grandchildren Gage, Alyssa, Wednesday, Owen, Lewis, Everest, and Elsie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Betty Hempton, and brother-in-law, John Hamilla.
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation starting at noon until service time.
Private committal and inurnment at Covington Memorial Gardens.
