

Jerild "Jerry" King, 71, passed away on March 11, 2026. He was born on January 4, 1955 in Janesville, Wisconsin, son of the later John and Beatrice (Tracy) King. Jerry dedicated over 43 years to General Motors, retiring in 2020. He enjoyed riding his Harley, reading Stephen King Novels, and playing cards. Jerry was the avid outdoorsman, sportsman, and was a lifelong NASCAR, Brewers, and most of all Green Bay Packers fan. He took great pride in his ride on the small plane. Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cindy (Olver) King; daughters, Heather Washburn and Jessica Hockemeyer; grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan) Boucher, Alix Schilling, Jacob (Nicole) Hockemeyer, Ashley Karn, Justin Hockemeyer and Haley Hockemeyer; great-grandchildren, Dash Boucher, Ashton Hockemeyer and Hazel Hockemeyer; brothers, Ron (Sally), Jeff (Alice), and Greg (Karla) King; and several, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Joel Hockemeyer; inlaws, Gerald and Kathleen Olver; and brothers-in-law, David Olver and Doug Felck. A funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Wayne Pitbull Coalition.
