Jimmy Leroy Smith

Our beloved father Jimmy Leroy Smith passed away peacefully on Friday December 20th, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 3rd, 1956. Jimmy loved to work with his hands and was an avid woodworker. He enjoyed his grandchildren and was always the first one to roughhouse or play tea party. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson, when the weather was nice. He was also a very passionate gardener, and he loved to share his produce with family and friends. He leaves behind his daughter Jennifer (Donnie) Clark, sons Jimmy (Brandy) Kitson, Josh (Cindy) Kitson, and a stepdaughter Karen Mitchell. Brothers Steven Smith, John (Teresa) Smith, Mary (Jeff) Abshire, Luetta Wimes, and Edward Smith. As well as twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and twenty-eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Smith, his mother Mary Webb Smith, his brothers Bob (Sue) Smith, Billy Smith, sister Mavis Smith, and great grandson Aiden Kitson. In lieu of a funeral there will be a service in celebration of his life on Saturday January 11th at 2pm at the Church of God 427 3rd St, Fort Wayne, IN 46808, dinner to follow service. All friends and family are welcome.
