John M Didion, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Born on October 21, 1957, in Fort Wayne he was a son of the late Richard P and Mary (Kreienbrink) Didion. John worked as a mechanic for GTE. He became a fleet supervisor when the company was later purchased by Verizion. He continued his career with Verizion as it then became known today as Frontier Communications. John worked there until retiring as the Director of Fleet for the entire nation. In his free time, and early years of retirement John could be found helping family, constantly building or fixing anything he could, on a snowmobile trip in Wisconsin, or just tinkering with something in his barn. There was little he could not build or fix. He was always known for his “help others first” mentality. If he wasn’t there he could be found enjoying time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debra J. (Hile) Didion; son, Robert (Erin) Didion; daughter-in-law, Theresa (Mike) Ley; siblings, Richard (Kwaren) Didion, Jeff (Renee) Didion, Cecelia (Larry) Miller, Theresa (Dan) Leeuw, Judy (Brian) Krocker, Jean (Pete) Henry, and Jan (Jerry) Rinehart; and grandchildren, Olivia, Julia, Lilah, Michael, Thomas, and Xavier. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Didion.
