John Robert Porter, 76, passed away December 27, 2025, at his home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on February 20, 1949, in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of the late Robert Frederick and Mabel Irene Porter-Baer.
He graduated from Howe Military in 1967, and Indiana University 1982, with AAS in Operations Management as well as Merchandise Sales and Distribution. He also earned his Bachelor's in Supervision from Purdue University 1984.
John was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Tillman Park Fort Wayne Congregation.
He was a Health Inspector with the enforcement division and food protection division, with the Allen County Health Department. John retired in 2005, with over 20 years of service.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cynthia Ann Porter of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Michael Porter of Florida, daughter, Ruth Porter of Fort Wayne, IN; and a stepsister Linda Dearing of Fort Wayne, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judith Diane Porter.
A memorial service will be held later at Jehovah’s Witnesses Tillman Park Fort Wayne Congregation, 6000 Abbott Street, Fort Wayne, IN.
