

John Patrick Scheppele, 52, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home. He was born on November 18, 1968 in Fort Wayne. A graduate of Elmhurst High School, he also was a member of Elmhurst’s wrestling team. John furthered his education at Strayer University earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2002. He later graduated from the University of Maryland with a master degree in Business Administration in 2006. John was a member of the Internal Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 305 and was an electrician with Service Electric. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in Little League baseball, martial arts, and golf. He later enjoyed bowling, softball, NASCAR, riding his Kawasaki crotch rocket, and dancing crazy. He was a fan of IU basketball and Colts football. John loved fishing and built some of the greatest memories fishing with his dad, son, and those he loved. He had just returned from Florida where he fished with his dad and son during his son’s 16th birthday. A wonderful son, he had the most caring heart and bigger than life personality. He loved his family and friends deeply and wanted everyone else to be happy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his father, John F. (Carolyn) Scheppele of Fort Wayne; mother, Gloria (James) Schnepp of Fort Wayne; his love, Jerilyn Ransom of Churubusco, IN; son, John Reid Scheppele; daughter, Sarah Grace Scheppele; sister, Pam (Edward) Reust of Roanoke, IN; stepsisters, Nicole (Ric) Semanski of Milwaukee, WI, and Amy Almodovar of Monroeville, IN; stepbrothers, Clint (Darlene) Lohman of Fort Wayne, Josh (Heather) Schnepp of Fort Wayne, and Austin (Arika) Schnepp of Charleston, IN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends. He was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Paul Bollinger and Pauline Frye; and paternal grandparents, John and Rachel Scheppele. Funeral Service is at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Advantage Mungovan, 2114 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, with calling three hours prior. Pastor John Huff officiating.
