JOHN E. SHERWOOD, 85, died on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, following a long illness. He was born on March 14, 1925, in Fort Wayne. A native of Fort Wayne, he was a proud veteran of World War II Navy service and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by sister, Delores (Gene) Hammer; sister-in-law, Rita; daughter, Arlene Junkers; son, Ken; grandchildren, Amy and Dan; and niece/caregiver, Laura (Bill) Lowen. He enjoyed a wonderful family of nieces and nephews along with friends in Fort Wayne and Seattle, Wash. where he lived for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Elizabeth (Aaron) and Everett Kenneth Sherwood; sister, DeVona (Ross) Hobbs; and brother, Jim Sherwood. Private family services and burial are at Lindenwood Cemetery.
