Joshua Allen Becktell

Josh grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated from Northrop High School before earning his degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 2001. He built a successful career in water treatment and lived in several cities across the country before returning to his hometown.

Known for his quick wit and big heart, Josh loved telling jokes, making sharp witty observations, listening to music, and challenging you with the question: “Who sings this?” Always ready with a playful tease for anyone who didn’t know the answer.

Josh cherished time with his girlfriend, Maddie Grimes. He enjoyed hiking at the gravel pit with his cherished dog, Beretta. He liked fishing, cooking delicious meals, and hockey. A true lover of life, Josh attended concerts, comedy shows, and movies regularly, embracing every opportunity to enjoy life.

He is survived by his sister, Jordan Becktell; his aunt, Charlene Stoller; and many cousins: Chad and Regan Stoller; Todd, Trista, Trighton, and Taelynn Stoller; Shel, Dave, and Domanic Orn; DaKota and Nathan Ellis; along with numerous members of the Becktell family. Josh now joins his parents, Judy K. Becktell and Thomas Becktell, in eternal paradise.

Visitation for Joshua will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5PM-7PM at Advantage Funeral Homes - Mungovan located on 2114 S Calhoun St, Fort Wayne, IN, 46802.
