Joyce Marie McDevitt

After completing her schooling, Joyce began her career with United Airlines in Long Beach, California. While there, she met William "Bill" McDevitt, who was serving in the United States Navy at the time. The two were married on January 2, 1955, in Long Beach, California. Following William's military service, they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Joyce continued her employment with United Airlines.

Later in life, Joyce retired from Wayne Home Equipment in Fort Wayne, where she worked in inside sales.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Milburn and Melva Mundorff; her brothers, Milburn and Larry Mundorff; her sister, Carol White; her grandchildren, Amanda and Sydney Galleger.

She is survived by her husband, William, with whom she shared nearly 71 years of marriage; her sons, Steve (Terry) and Mark (Holly), both of Fort Wayne; her daughter, Diane (Steve) Galleger, of Chanhassen, Minnesota; her sister, Beverly (Charles) Davis, of Claycomo, MO. Joyce is also survived by seven grandchildren, Stephanie McDevitt, Rebecca McDevitt-Spall, Matthew McDevitt, Brook Barile, Amber Corsbie, Bryce McDevitt, and Jack Galleger; and nine great grandchildren.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
