Joyce G. Murphy 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021. She was born on April 5, 1944 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Joseph Dalton and Amira (Winter) Holtgren. She was a graduate of Brick Township High School in Laurelton, New Jersey, Class of 1962. Joyce was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 20 years. She had a passion for helping people and volunteered at Matthew 25 for 16 years and Wellspring for 10 years. Besides caring for others she enjoyed reading, flowers, a good hot tea, and most of all being a grandma. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Georgianna (Eugene) Bogert; brother Albert “Bud” (Marilyn) Dalton; seven grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. Also preceding her in passing was her daughter, Lynnette Loshe; step-father, Walter Holtgren; brothers, Charles Clark, Wallen Holtgren, and Joseph Dalton; and sisters, Ellen “Nellie” Jones and Bernadette Cook. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak home for funerals 6810 Old Trail Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation beginning at 11am. Burial to follow the service at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Matthew 25 or Wellspring.
