Joyce Jean Whitaker, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Celebrate Senior Living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born May 28, 1942 in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Violet M. Perry.
Joyce worked at Seyferts in Fort Wayne, for 14 years. She enjoyed her Bible Study, and caring for her cats. Joyce is survived by her children, Debra K. York of Auburn, IN; Douglas W. Brown of Ohio, Kenneth A. Brown of Garrett, IN; Charles B. (Amanda Deever) Brown of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, John (Julia) Perry, David Perry, both of Fort Wayne, IN; sister-in-law, Maxine Perry of Garrett, IN; and niece, Catherine; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Whitaker; daughter, Rebecca Pontzius; and siblings, Harold Perry, Charles Perry, Richard Perry, and Grace Westfall.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
