

Judith "Judie" Louise Shannonhouse, a cherished and compassionate woman, passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 14, 1940, in Kokomo, Ind., Judith lived a life filled with faithfulness and devotion to her family and community.
Judie pursued her education at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, where she laid the foundation for a long and fulfilling career. She dedicated 46 years of her life as a registered nurse, a testament to her compassionate nature and commitment to helping others.
Judie's personal interests included reading, writing, antiquing, and decorating her homes with warmth and meaningful antiques. She cherished spending time with her family during Autumn Festivals and Christmas, and was renowned for making the world's best veggie soup, baked beans, pot roast, and baked apples. Her pride in her nursing career, cozy homes, children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends was evident to all who knew her.
A lifelong member of the Catholic Church, Judie spent most of her life at St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Kokomo, Ind. before joining St. Patrick Catholic Church of Arcola when she moved to Fort Wayne in 2012.
She is survived by her children, Ed (Polly) Shannonhouse of Greentown, Indiana, Kelly (Sebastien) Lalonde of Ottawa, Ontario, and Lori (Scott) Burns of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Judith was a proud mother, grandmother to ten grandchildren, and great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Rita (James) Brock of Kokomo, Indiana, and John (Deanna) Schleeter of Westfield, Indiana, as well as her sister-in-law, Cheryle Schleeter of New Berlin, Wisconsin. Judie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida (née Patoux) Schleeter; and brother, Phillip Schleeter.
Mass of Resurrection is 11 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd, Fort Wayne with memorial calling one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
