Karen Diane Nicholson

Karen Diane Nicholson, age 64 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Parkview Hospital, in Fort Wayne. Karen was born October 12, 1957 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She loved being a wife to Ron, a mother, and a grandmother. In her younger years, she worked at Lincoln Life and Elmhurst High School, and later on working at Rarick's Auto Repair. She enjoyed pursuing her passion for art; painting, drawing, and making crafts. She also loved her sports, Cubs baseball, IU basketball, and Notre Dame and Green Bay Packers football. But most of all, Karen loved her family the most; just being with her family "aka" family nights, family camping, and family parties. She was a warrior in this life, and she will be missed beyond measure. She is survived by her husband, Ron (Ronnie) Nicholson; children, Christopher (Amanda) Pifer, Michelle Pifer (Joe), Patrick (Sarah) Pifer, and Ashley Pifer (Dylan); and 13 grandchildren; siblings, Tom (Nancy) Kline, Don (Becky) Kline, John (Julie) Kline, Terri (Troy) Kinsey, Ron Kline; and brother in-law Roy Freygang. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernadette Kline; and a sister, Julie (Kline) Freygang. A visitation for Karen will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46808. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Prairie Grove Cemetery at a later date.
