Keith Anthony Phillips

Born in Flint, Michigan on May 6, 1953, to the late Julian and Leta Phillips. Keith received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 1975. He later went on to obtain his Master’s degree. Keith started his career at the age of 18 working on the assembly line at General Motors in Flint Michigan. He later transferred to the Fort Wayne Assembly Plant and took a job in the Labor Relations where he retired in 2007. He continued to work part time with his last job being with the Dignity Memorial as a Funeral Service Assistant.

Keith was a member of the Indiana Freemasons serving the Fort Wayne chapter since 1989. In 2005, he became a member of the Mizpah Shriners.

In his free time, he was an avid golfer and never missed an opportunity to be out on the course. He also was a huge fan of the University of Michigan football team, having season tickets for over 20 years. Anyone who met him learned very quickly of his love for U of M, whether it be in what he wore or the memorabilia he had around his house.

Keith’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children Daniel (Tiffany Christopher) Phillips of Marion, Indiana, Jennifer (Corey) MacPherson of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Gregory (Danielle) Phillips of Evanston, Illinois. Six grandchildren; Donovan, Caden, Bailey, Parker, Emma and June. Brother; Mike (Liz) Phillips of Fenton, Michigan, Sisters; Leanne (Gene) Szatkowski of Fenton, Michigan, Laurie (Tony) Peckham of Flint, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents Julian and Leta Phillips and best friend Eric Lemkhule.

A visitation will be at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home- Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, with the Funeral Service beginning at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made out to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Flushing, Michigan for all his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, US, on May 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on May 7, 2026, from 6:00 pm.
