Kenneth L. Burkholder, 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Born on August 18, 1935, in Wabash, Indiana, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Nellie (nee Steininger) Burkholder.
Kenneth proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Wabash High School in 1953, who then went on to pursue a career in Elementary Education, graduating from Ball State University with both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in education.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon S. (nee Carman) Burkholder; daughter, Julie (Eric Zehner) Burkholder of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Griffin H. Tutwiler, Hannah E. (Triceten Bickford), both of Fort Wayne; and siblings, Patricia (Burkholder) Bricker of Wabash, and Tom Burkholder of New Haven.
A private family graveside service will be held at Falls Cemetery, 725 Falls Ave, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne.
