Kenneth R. Groves

Kenneth R. Groves, 68, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Kenneth was a 1969 graduate of Elmhurst High School and received a basketball scholarship. Kenneth started out in the car business working for Heffner’s, then sold real estate with Mike Thomas. He then later moved to Sarasota Florida where he managed a hotel for 13 years. He attended The Chapel. He enjoyed sports and would cook for his family on game day. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Cathy Groves; children, Adam (Michelle) Groves, Lysa (Tim) Pelkington, Jim Baldwin, and Jodie (Bret) Swaney; grandchildren Aubrey, Braden, and Cameron Groves, Gabriele, Gavin, Mason, Wyatt, Bryce, and Delaney Pelkington, Kylie Baldwin, and Foster and Cade Swaney; siblings, Judy (Darwin) Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Rosetta Groves and siblings Rosalie, Patricia, and Jim. Service will be Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Pine Valley 1320 E Dupont Road with one hour of calling prior to the service. Calling, Sunday, November 11 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley.
