I share the memory as my brother Ron did of Uncle Kenny standing by the TV. One of my fondest memories is he would call me Connie Soup (Sue).  And helping mom with jigsaw puzzles.  And of course the dancing he did at mom's 60th birthday party.  Love and miss you Uncle Kenny.  I expect you to welcome me into heaven with well if it isn't Connie Soup.  

I want to start by thanking everyone for sharing these memories.  I was around for less than half of my Grandfather's life, and reading the stories from before I was born has been interesting and enlightening.  Over the last couple of days, I myself have had two memories of Grandpa coming to mind that bring me comfort.  

When my sister and I were kids, we knew we could count on one thing every Christmas: a McDonald's gift certificate booklet from Grandpa.  Even though it wasn't a surprise, it never felt anything short of special, and I was always excited to receive it from him.  For a kid my age, it felt like I was rich!

A couple decades later, the family had gathered once again for the holidays.  By then, there were so many new faces, adding to Grandpa's list of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, etc.  There were so many people, we were taking the time to explain to him how each child was related to him (it could be hard to keep track!).  When the end of the list of relations was reached, I looked at my grandfather and said jokingly, while gesturing to everyone in the room, "In other words, this is all your fault!"

If there is someone to blame for creating and nurturing such a good, diverse, caring and supportive family, then yes: it was all Ken Stine's fault.  Even with so many family members to love, he always took a moment to make sure each individual felt that love and support.  Even something that may seem as insignificant as a McDonald's gift certificate booklet can have a lasting impact, and he knew this.  I'll always be grateful for that.


So many memories.  Hard working man. When he got sick he would sweat it out. He worjef at Stuckys downtown  at the time, and i went to Central high. He would drop me off befire work. I think it was just to make sure i went. Lol. Trips to Ky during spring break in a Ford station wagon. So many more but no time

Dan, I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your father. May God bless you and your family with peace and many happy memories.

So many good memories.  I remember that swimming pool Danny.  And the home made hockey rink in your backyard.  I remember how our TV would act up and he would come over to look at it and as soon as he walked in our house it would work fine.  He would tease my mom and say looks ok to me. I remember one time he was at our house and the network was having difficulties so the screen had the message please stand by.  Uncle Kenny got up and stood  next to the TV. My mom said what are you doing  and he said I 'm standing by. I remember the  big cases with all those tubes for the TV's. The card games with uncle Kenny and Grandma and my parents.  And always popcorn.  So many more.  I love you uncle.  I'll see you in heaven. 

Dad was a hard working Man.  Holding 3 jobs at one time to support his 7 Children ! We never really wanted for much. We always had what we needed ! I'll never forget the haircuts in the back yard, the swimming pool he built for us made  out of wood,( it didn't hold water for too long !)  His many  78 LP's collection. his love for music and his wife ,my Mothe,r Pearl  Francis Page Stine and all his kids. John, Sandra, Mike ,Kathy Rick ,Mick and me Dan. So many words so much to tell so hard to say Goodbye. Rest well Dad. Tell Mom we said Hello and we LOVE you Always.
