 Obituario de Lee Dell Girardot
Our dear father, Lee Dell Girardot, was born May 17, 1947 in Fort Wayne, IN. to his proud parents, Leroy D and Lois Girardot. He passed on November 30, 2023, leaving this world at the age of 76. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1966 and played the position of defensive tackle on the football team. He was a proud communications Sgt. serving In the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Lee was a cement mixer driver for Irving Ready Mix for 21 years retiring in 2003. He attended New Haven United Methodist Church for worship with his family. A few of Lee's many hobbies included: Sudoku puzzles, building model vehicles, and the flying or operating of various remote controlled planes, helicopters, boats and cars. He also was a private licensed airplane pilot of a Cessna for several years out of Smith Field in the 70's and early 80's. He and his wife Linda both loved to travel the world. They went on cruises and took road trips on their Goldwing motorcycle. Lee was a great bowler; bowling several perfect 300 games in a league with Linda and served as a junior bowling coach for more than 20 years. He also was a little league baseball assistant coach for approximately four years. He held several volunteer and community service positions, including working with the Ft. Wayne TinCaps and the V.A. hospital as a greeter. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife Linda and father to his sons John and Matthew, never failing to provide well for his family. He served his community by faithfully plowing snow for more than two decades each winter. Lee was preceded in death by his wife Linda L. (Koester) Girardot in 2012. Lee is survived and missed by his sons, John (Marcia) Girardot of Payson, UT; Matthew (Melissa) Girardot of Fort Wayne, IN; and grandchildren, Andrew Girardot, Matthew Girardot Jr. and Dante Girardot. Along with extended family, his neighbors and community will miss him as well. He will be cherished and always hold a place in our hearts. We would love you to come and honor his life at 7pm Thursday 7, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons. We are located at Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN.
