Marcia Zerkle, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Marcia was born in Rising Sun, Indiana on February 3, 1943, daughter of the late Alvin and Dorothy (Teke) Detmer. She worked for Midwest America Federal Credit Union and was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ for over 50 years. Marcia enjoyed being a school volunteer and being the PTA president. Most of all she enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Melissa Theismann, Laura (Brian) Jones and Douglas (Lisa) Zerkle; grandchildren, Mallory Gross, Courtney Bishop, Christopher Stetzel, Sarah and Megan Theisman and Justin Zerkle; great granddaughter, Jessalyn Adams; and brother, Denny (Mary Ann) Detmer. Marcia was also proceeded in passing by her husband of 58 years, Gary Zerkle; grandchildren, Harry John and Abigail Grace; sister, Sharon Keith; and brother-in-law, David Zerkle. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Contributions in Marcia's memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
