As a child in the late 60s you made such a profound impact on me musically. That stayed with me always. I went on to sign a recording contract and put out an album and I know you would have so been proud of that. 
I am now 64 years old and I’ve never forgotten  you and still think of you from time to time. May God bless your soul in His Kingdom

My deepest sympathy for the family at the passing of Margaret "Peg"..... I got to know Peg over a period of 3 years when she was the organist at the church where I was a secretary. She was a kindhearted, one of a kind lady who I always enjoyed speaking to.  She was so kind as to invite me over for Bible Study a time or two. One time in particular she made us a beautiful lunch that we took in her sunroom. We  enjoyed walking about the yard as she showed me her beautiful flowers. I'll always remember her.  May she rest in peace and may the family be comforted.

I always enjoyed talking to her at the Magic Wand in Churubusco during her lunch dates, she will be missed.

Many years have elapsed since "Peg" , my husband and I were fellow worshipers at South Side Church of the Nazarene.  She sang for our wedding August 30, 1958.  Russell passed away April 7, 2018. I came this evening, but did not know family members and all was very busy.  The family is in my thoughts and prayers with sincere sympathy!  Elaine Mumma

  What an awesome lady and valued friend was Margaret!  She was an artist with her knitting needles.  We have one of her creations - an afghan covered with baskets of flowers.  Margaret created made-to order  afghans for family members and friends..  Listing 2 of them; one was the nativity scene, another was a vineyard covered with different colored grapes.
  She loved the Lord, had a true Christian personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  She prayed - talked to him throughout the day.  We often told each other how we couldn't find something  and by asking Jesus "Where is it?!" we would find the missing item.  Every morning Margaret read from 5 different versions of he bibles.   She also read the bible in the evening.  
  She loved, prayed for and was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  During our monthly meetings, she told me about the accomplishments of Mark, John, Daniel, and Beth, and various grandchildren.  
  Margaret led Bible studies.  She cared for her home, yard, flowers.  Every year she canned bushels of vegetables and fruit.      A musician, she taught vocal music and led church choirs.  In her 60s she learned to play the piano, in her 70s the organ, and played for different churches.  
  During our meetings we discussed the bible, our churches, and other topics.  She always asked about our church and supported Merle and his work.  Truly, at times I felt she must have some magical power to extend the day beyond 24 hours.  I assume she slept sometime.
     Two bible verses remind me of Margaret: 1.  "Her children arise and call her blessed." (proverbs 31:28a)  I don't know if they actually arise and call her blessed, but I do know  they each called her every day and they and grandchildren looked after her.  2. The story in Acts 9 of Tabitha who died and the widows showed Peter the robes she made.  I'm sure Margaret's beautiful afghans will be shown  for many years!  I will miss you, Margaret, but will be seeing you in heaven!

I've known Margaret for a little over 17 years, first as her banker and quickly as her friend.  I've visited her at her home and had cake and coffee with her in the cute little china tea set as we visited in her "bird sanctuary".   She was such a special lady and although I've met a couple of her children here and there, I felt like I knew all of you (even the grandkids).  She was so proud of her family and their accomplishments in life.  She was a lady of many talents.  I don't think I've ever seen such an organized yarn collection, all neatly stored by color and weight.  Truly,  I wouldn't have expected any less of her, she was so organized with every little detail of life.  Not more than 5 or 6 years ago, she brought into my office several notebooks, in these notebooks neatly written was her checkbook ledger some as old as 50 years ago.  She was an inspiration to everyone she met too, I've not thought about playing music since high school band, but she has encouraged me and I've started dabbling around with an old clarinet. Maybe some day I'll be half as musically talented as she was.  She was better than she gave herself credit for too, when she played our church service in April, she hardly recognized her own recording on our digital keyboard.  She'd grin and ask me several times during the service, "is that really me?"   She will be missed here, but I'm sure she's already one of Heaven's favorite ladies, I know she was one of mine.   



Margaret was a fine Christian Lady who loved the Lord! She played for our services when we first started New Life Lutheran Church in the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn and when we bought property in Waterloo she played for special occasions as recently as April 14!
Judith (my wife) and Margaret met for lunch monthly for many years and I always enjoyed talking to her when I picked Judith up!
She now in heaven for all eternity with Christ and she served Christ well during her time on this earth!

We will really miss her!


I am married to Peg's nephew Gary.  We had the pleasure to spend an afternoon at her house with her awesome family.  What a wonderful day we had.  I only wish we could have done it again, but we will treasure that day in our hearts forever.  Rest in peace Aunt Peg, until we meet again...
