Maria Luisa Hernandez-Vivar

Maria Luisa Hernandez-Vivar, age 54, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was born March 15, 1969 in Mataquescuintla, Guatemala to Guillermo Hernandez Oliva and Romelia Vivar Marroquin. Maria would marry the love of her life, Victor Lemus Navichoque in 1993. Her compassionate heart and generosity was demonstrated through the convenience store they owned in Guatemala; always providing 'a little extra' for her customers. Maria and her family relocated to Fort Wayne in September of 2019.

She had an exuberant spirit, contagious laughter and smile, loved to dance, but cherished the time spent with family the most. Whether singing to her children as a babe, checking in after a long workday, or receiving fashion advice from Roxana, Maria loved being a mother and grandmother.

Maria is survived by her husband of thirty years, Victor; children, Henry Lemus Hernandez, Johny Lemus Hernandez, Vanessa Lemus Hernandez, Victor Lemus Hernandez and Roxana Lemus Hernandez; grandchildren, Sofia Lemus, Karen Lemus, Sebastian Lemus, Adriana Lemus, Joshua Quevedo, and Samantha Ramirez; and parents, Guillermo Hernandez Oliva and Romelia Vivar Marroquin; ten siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Friends and family will also be received on Friday, October 27, 2023, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
