Marie Helen Hosler

Marie was born June 25, 1934 and was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended Franklin Middle School and North Side High School, and she spent her life surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her two sons, Brian Hosler and David (Kellie) Hosler, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Jen) Hosler, Mark (Heidi) Hosler, and Anne (Chris) Barton. Marie was also a proud great-grandmother to Grace Hosler and Madelynn Barton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert (Herb) Hosler, who passed away on June 30, 2009, and also by her daughter-in-law Audrey (Rhonda) Hosler.

Marie and Herb were married on March 20, 1965, and celebrated 44 anniversaries together. After Herb passed away in June 2009, Marie has been eagerly awaiting the day they will reunite.

Marie was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she found comfort and community throughout her life. She was a woman of deep faith, and her love for God and her family guided all that she did.

She had many hobbies that brought her joy, including solving word puzzles, reading romance novels, playing card games, and crocheting beautiful pieces. In her younger years, she was quite the artist. She enjoyed drawing and sketching.

Marie is known for her stubborn and straightforward personality. She was never one to hold back, always speaking her mind and telling you exactly what she was thinking, even if it was something you didn't want to hear.

Marie was a strong, independent woman who lived in the same house she shared with her husband for 60 years. For the last 7 years, her best friend, Katy Mumma, visited daily to ensure Marie had everything she needed, allowing her to spend her final years in the comfort of her own home.

A memorial service will be held for Marie on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:00PM, with calling one hour prior, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Hospice or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 1636 St. Marys Ave, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808, in Marie’s memory.

Marie’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
