Marie D Korte

Marie Delagrange Korte, 86, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. She was born in Grabill, IN, on December 31, 1930. Marie was a member of Maplewood Mennonite Church, for some time she worked as the Food Service Director at Towne House Retirement Village. In her early life she was an excellent seamstress, and taught sewing and tailoring classes. She was a woman of strong Christian faith. Her main joy in life was her family, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children; Susan (Alan) Korte, Nancy (Daniel) Ulrich, and Sally (Greg) Ford; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marian Delagrange. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Margaret Lengacher; daughter, Cynthia Sowers; 8 siblings; first husband, Vernon Delagrange; and second husband, John Korte. Memorial service is 11:30 am, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Maplewood Mennonite Church, 4129 Maplecrest Rd. Visitation at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial to take place in Yaggy Cemetery, Grabill, Indiana 10 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Memorials may be made to the Power House Youth Center of New Haven, IN.
