

Marshall Blaine McCann, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Chapman Place. Born October 5, 1927 in DeKalb County, Ind., he was a son of the late George and Mildred (Sebert) McCann. Marshall attended McIntosh High School, Auburn, Ind., and honorably served in the United States Army. He proudly passed his piloting exam with Fort Wayne Power Squadron. He was a trucker with S&S Oil Co. for 10 years and a manager with S&S Tire Co. recap shop for three years. He retired as a floor pilot with International Harvester and after retirement drove RVs for Coachman. He was a member of United Auto Workers (UAW) and enjoyed attending the meetings. Marshall enjoyed caring for his dog, Mac, boating, fishing, and driving cross-country. He excelled at working with his hands and refinished the woodwork in his home among other improvements. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Kirk) Gumpp of Huntertown, Ind.; son, Jerry (Susie) McCann of Monticello, Utah; four grandchildren, Trent (Sarah) Gumpp, Kevin (Angie) Gumpp, Bobbi (Layton) Elliott, and Nathan (Trena) McCann; seven great-grandchildren, Harmony Gumpp, Ava Gumpp, Gillian Gumpp, Austen (Anne) Gumpp, Cameron Elliott, Colleen Elliott, and Autumn McCann; and two great great-grandchildren, Maddox and Montgomery Gumpp. He was also preceded in death by six siblings, Donald, Pauline, James, Josephine, Jessie, and Martha. Memorial Service is noon on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Advantage Highland Park, 2403 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Jim Conn officiating. Inurnment to follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bright Focus Foundation.
