Mary Elizabeth Craib, 94, passed away March 7, 2025, at her son’s home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born January 6, 1931, in New Castle, IN, the daughter of Courtney and Uphama Oliver. She graduated from Moorland High School, in Mooreland, IN.
In her younger years she worked at Delco Remy in Anderson, IN.
Mary was a giver and very much enjoyed caring for others. She liked doing crafts, making ceramics and loved tending to her yard and flowers. She also liked playing card games with friends, especially Hand and Foot. They spent several years in Florida, living near her sister Belva. She and her husband George hosted the family Christmas on Christmas Eve for many years. She could make the best desserts and candies. She was always actively doing something. Growing up on a farm, she knew what hard work was. She was a very sweet lady and will be missed.
She is survived by her children Al (Marlene) Craib, Nora (Jim) Braun, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and son in law John Grawcock.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Craib, April 12, 2017, daughter, Betty Grawcock, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm Saturday March 15, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation 2 hours prior. Private Committal and Burial at Concordia Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Dr Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
