

Mary Ellen was the office manager of Kmart in Fort Wayne for 34 years before retiring in 2003. She had an amazing work ethic and was an overcomer of life's most difficult obstacles as a single parent raising two daughters.
Mary Ellen was a passionate woman of faith. She was a member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church in Roanoke. Mary Ellen was a living example of the love of Jesus and was accepting of all people.
Mary Ellen was an advocate for others. For the past two years she served as the President of the Resident Council at The Waters in Fort Wayne.
She was an avid reader and passed that passion on to her daughters. Mary Ellen loved music and her Mustangs. She was very social and enjoyed gathering with her family and friends. She adored her three grandchildren as they brought her tremendous joy.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters, Heather Jackson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Alicia (Tony) Walters of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren, Dimitri Duzinskas of Piqua, Ohio, and Karmody and Daphne Higgins of Troy, Ohio; sisters, Rose (Lowell) Worth and Liz Moran both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister-in-law, Jane Jackson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Sarah "Jenni" Jackson, Christina (Timothy) Whaley, Craig Moran, Andrea (AJ) Bradley, Amber Worth, and Jessica (Will) Gonzalez. She was preceded in passing by her parents; brother, Kenneth Jackson; and niece, Crystal Worth.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Cornerstone Alliance Church, 5833 East 900 North, Roanoke, Indiana 46783, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a service beginning at 2:00pm. Friends and family are encouraged to wear purple in honor of Mary Ellen.
