

Mary Jo (King) Rogers, age 80, graduated to Heaven April 23, 2013, after 20 highly skilled and dedicated medical professionals at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, attempted to delay her trip. She joins her beloved husband Harold Rogers and step-daughter Amy Rogers.
Born in Arlington, Kentucky October 10, 1932 to a baseball team-sized family, Mary Jo was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Acel, RC Howard and Warren King; and 3 sisters: Geneva Perry, Frances Cox and Mada King. She is survived by sister and lifetime telephone companion Nadine Gish, step-daughter Elizabeth (Beth Ann) Weiner (Gary), step-son Michael Douglas Rogers (Nikki), grandchildren Michael Anthony and Hannah Nicole, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who are grateful to have known and loved her.
Mary Jo's life centered in faith. She contributed prayer on behalf of every challenge faced by family and friends. She was a member of the First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
Mary Jo attended Southeast Bible College and graduated from Ole Miss before becoming an elementary teacher in Florida and then supervising the daycare center at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She took greatest pride in helping raise 3 wonderful young women as nanny to Allison Sackett, Julie Townsend and Madison Moyle.
Mary Jo leaves a legacy of a sweet spirit that touched thousands.
