MATEO AGUIRRE, SR., 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1923 in Dilly, Texas the son of the late Jose Maria Aguirre and Felipa Mata-moros. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, and was a Crane Operator with Virginia Carolina Chemical Co. for 20 years retiring in 1976. Surviving are his wife, Consuelo Robles Aguirre; daughters, Rose M. (Jose) Luera, Mary J. Vasquez, Fleipa (Frank) Lozano, Gloria Vasquez, and Maria Aguirre all of Fort Wayne; sons, Louis Aguirre, Mateo Aguirre, Jr., and Joseph F. (Diane) Aguirre all of Fort Wayne; 35 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maria De Jesus Flores of Laredo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Juan and Thomas Sr. Aguirre. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne (IN 46802), with calling one hour prior. Father Timothy Wrozek officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at C.M. Sloan & Sons, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne, (IN 46808). Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
