

Max Cunningham, 87, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with his family by his side. Born on August 9, 1933 in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late John and Laveria (Miller) Cunningham. Max graduated from Purdue University with a degree in electrical engineering. He began his career as an electrical engineer working for the Erie Railroad for 13 years. He later worked as an electrical engineer for AEP for 28 years. He was a member of the Griffith Masonic Lodge. He will be remembered as someone who enjoyed playing Euchre, camping, traveling to Florida in the winter, and an avid Purdue basketball fan. Surviving family include his children, Steve (Cindy) Cunningham, Mary Anne (Mike) Taulbee, and Cheryl Vander Vliet; grandchildren, Ryan (Krissy) Cunningham, Jessica (Casey) Stouffer, Kelli (Ryan) Sharp, Karyn (Brandon) Stogsdill, Joey Moisica, Jake Moisica, Luke Moisica, William Kusters, Connor Kusters, and Emily (Shayne) Burpo; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Joanne (Vickery) Cunningham. A private family service will be held. Public visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
