

Maxine Ruth Mueller Kramer, 80, of Ft Wayne, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville. She was born in Ft Wayne and lived here most of her life. She was the daughter of Max and Loretta (Hoeppner) Mueller. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1948. Her senior year, she was given an award for girls athletics from the State of Indiana. She attended Valparaiso University and River Forest Teacher College in IL. She did her practice teaching in an orphanage in Addison, IL. She taught school in Vincennes at St Peter's Lutheran School for 6 years. In 1953, she married Norman Kramer at St John's Lutheran Church, Rochester, IN. Norman was State of Indiana Baseball Hall of Famer and Phillies Baseball Professional Scout. In 1956, they moved to Tell City, then in 1957, she was water safety director and life guard at Camp Koch (Tell City) for crippled children. In 1957-1958, she was a home bound teacher. In 1960, they moved to Shelbyville, then in 1965, to Ft Wayne. She joined Emmanuel-St. Michael PTA. She was assistant Girl Scout and brownie leader. She was a member of St Michael Lutheran Church since 1966, Ladies Guild and Lutheran Home Auxiliary. From 1985-1994, she worked on the election board. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen (James) Liddy, of Ft Wayne; son, Steve (Jennifer) Kramer, of Kendallville; and two grandchildren, Max and Carl Kramer. She was preceded death by her husband, Norman in 1999. Funeral Service is 10:00am Friday, December 24, 2010 at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton,Wayne St Chapel, 420 W.
