Mildred “Millie” Bartels 95, of Fort Wayne passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. She was born on June 24, 1925 in Fort Wayne. Millie was a daughter of the late Walter and Selma (Bleich) Mettler. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. Millie liked to entertain large groups of family and friends and she had a passion for cooking. She is survived by her daughter, Michele (Wayne) Miller; son, Scot (Andrea) Bartels; step-son, Keith Bartels; grandchildren, Brandon (Sara) Miller, Ashton Miller, Geraud Bartels, and Heather Bartels; step-grandchildren, Matt (Misty) Motter and Tabitha (Nathan) Colter; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Miller and Morgan Miller. Also preceding her in passing was her husband, Wallace Bartels; infant son, Bart Bartels; and sisters, Maxine Stephens and Irma Bradtmiller. A private family service to be held at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the SPCA, Alzheimer’s Association, or Zion Lutheran Church.
