MYRTLE BRAUN, 97, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, 11:25 p.m., at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born July 2, 1912, in Crown Point, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Henry Luebcke and Emma. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church; a member and past president of American Business Women's Association A.B.W.A.; and volunteer at Lutheran Hospital. She worked for the City Of Fort Wayne in the Mayor's office and as Secretary for the Board of Safety. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce (Gordon) Pixley of Fort Wayne; son, retired Col. Bruce (Ede) Braun of Manassas, Va.; brother, Walter (Betty) Luebcke of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, David Braun, Debby (Dan) Naughton, Susan (Brian) Raat, Matthew (Susan) Braun, Christy (Andy) Paskins, and Mark Pixley; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar A. Braun; sister, Alice; and brother-in-law, Harold Finck. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling two hours prior. The Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Emmaus Lutheran Church.
