Nancy E. Chamberlin Hoffman, 82, passed away November 19, 2018. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on January 26, 1936, the daughter of the late James and Kathryn Chamberlin. Nancy moved with her family as a young child from West Virginia to Indiana. Nancy worked in real estate for over 40 years, beginning at Century 21/Bradley and eventually owned her own appraisal company. Nancy was a Notre Dame fan, and in her spare time she was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and playing cards. She will be remembered for her great personality and remained funny and feisty until the end. Surviving are her children; Amy Downs, Beth Brewer, Fritz Hoffman, Kurt Hoffman; son-in-law, Dave Schory; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia “Kay” Ackerman, and Kedric Chamberlin. She was preceded in death by children; Frontz Hoffman, and Molly Schory; grandson, Joel Strausborger; siblings, Jim Chamberlin and Joan Short; and son-in-law, Wayne Downs. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:30 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 25, 2018 also at the funeral home 2 to 5 pm. Burial will take place in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Premier Hospice.
