Norma “Joan” Maxwell, 95, passed away November 11, 2025, at Kingston Residence of Winchester Road in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on September 17, 1930, in Ligonier, IN, the daughter of Donald H. and Gloria Melba Borger.
Norma graduated from North Side High School in 1949.
She was a longtime member of Waynedale United Methodist Church.
She and her husband, Les, started Maxwell Tree Expert Company in 1957, where she was the office manager and retired in 1995.
Norma is survived by her son, Gregory (Gina) Maxwell of Fort Wayne, IN; grandson, Christian (Emma) Maxwell of Indianapolis, IN; and her great-grandson, John Parker Maxwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Roberts Maxwell, in 2003; daughter, Dawn Marie Maxwell in 1989; and her sister, Janice Borger in 1982.
Funeral service will be 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation two hours prior. Pastor William Garver officiating. Committal and Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
